HIERARCHICAL SYSTEM OF OFFICERS OF LABOUR DEPARTMENT

1. ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF LABOUR (ENFORCEMENT), THANJAVUR

  • Administrative Authority over Enforcement Officers of Thanjavur District –16 Subordinate officers are working under his control.
  • Inspecting Authority for Shops, Catering, Motor Transport and other establishments (Except Factories) under various Labour Laws Including Child and Adolescent labour (P&R) Act 1986 & Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976.
  • Inspecting Authority under Legal Metrology Act 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules 2011
  • Authority under TN Conferment of permanent Status to Workmen Act 1981.
  • Licence Authority under Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970 and InterState Migrant workers
    Act 1979.

2. DEPUTY INSPECTORS OF LABOUR – (3 officers Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Pattukkottai)

  • Inspecting Authority for Shops, Catering, Motor Transport and other establishments (Except Factories) under various Labour Laws Including Child and Adolescent labour (P&R) Act 1986 & Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976.
  • Inspecting Authority under Legal Metrology Act 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules 2011.
  • Inspecting Authority under Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970 InterState Migrant workers Act 1979.
  • Stamping Authority for Fuel Pumps (Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene) and Weigh Bridges.

3. ASSISTANT INSPECTORS OF LABOUR- (9 Officers Thanjavur 3 Circle, Kumbakonam 3 Circle, Pattukkottai 2 Circle and Papanasam one circle.

  • Inspecting Authority for shops, catering and other establishments (Except Factories) under various Labour Laws Including Child and Adolescent labour (P&R) Act 1986 & Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976.
  • Inspecting Authority under Legal Metrology Act 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules 2011.

4. STAMPING INSPECTORS – (4 Officers Thanjavur, Papanasan, Kumbakonam, Pattukkottai)

    • Stamping Authority of weights and measures under Legal Metrology Act 2009.
